Who tells your story? Latin America at the British Library

by jobradley | Dec 14, 2017 | Events, Latin Americans in the UK, Public Engagement, Translingual Networks | 0 comments

On Saturday 18 November, members of the Latin American community in London participated in a workshop at the British Library with curators and archivists who introduced the physical Latin American collections and UK Web Archive. Participants brought and shared their own objects and websites, and explored how they can shape archives and collections to increase accessibility and relevance to their communities.

The event was part of the Being Human festival in collaboration with the British Library and Latin Elephant, a charity that works to promote the inclusion of migrant and ethnic minority groups in processes of urban change. The event was organised by Dr Naomi Wells whose work on Latin American digital collections and communities forms part of the Translingual Networks sub-project.
