Two events in celebration of the European Day of Languages.
10.00am – 5.30pm: An interdisciplinary study day examining the relationships between music and language. Presenters to include: Klara Kofen, Prof. Fiona Sampson, Dr Nina Rolland, Prof. Philip Grange, Dr Paul Archbold, Prof. Marta Mateo. Morning sessions will feature screenings of interviews with composers on the use of languages in their work.

6.45 – 8.15pm: An evening of song in languages from across the globe, with the New London Children’s Choir conducted by Ronald Corp, and the N10 Choir conducted by Lazina Gheyselinck. Piano: Alexander Wells. Including works by Couperin, Vivaldi, Bach, Schubert, Rossini, Reger, Bartók, Sokolov, and Turnage, and songs in Finnish, Zulu, Japanese, French, Hebrew, Hungarian, Latin, among others.
